Latvian Carrier Doubles Down on Airbus Jet

Belfast-Made Wings to Feature on New Aircraft

AirBaltic, the Latvian flag carrier, has announced an order for 30 new Airbus A220-300 passenger jets, along with options for another 20. The deal marks the airline's fourth follow-on order for the model and brings its total order book to 88 A220s.

AirBaltic has been operating an all-A220 fleet since 2020, after becoming the launch customer for the A220-300 in 2016. The airline has praised the aircraft's performance, fuel efficiency, and passenger comfort.

The new aircraft will be delivered between 2024 and 2028 and will be used to replace older aircraft and expand the airline's route network. The wings for the new aircraft will be manufactured in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
